Route 660
| »»»» The Last Two Operating Days |
| Vista Coachways was pleased to operate the '660' local bus service, on behalf of North Somerset Council, from 5 April 2004 to 5 April 2008. | |||||
| The regular driver on this route was June, who made the service her own, and took great pride in looking after her customers. The pleasant rural route and regular timings provided an ideal opportunity to sample a bus service in the best tradition. It took you back in time, to an era when the world is not rushing to be there yesterday, and people have the time to speak to one another. | |||||

| For most of the four years, the service was run with our matching pair of Iveco buses with Mellor bodies. These were both new to Harry Blundred's 'Transit Holdings' operation, based in Devon, where both were registered new. Both were built to Transit Holdings' specification, with a front entrance and centre exit, and a side-facing seat between the two doorways. | |||||
| Torre (K727 UTT) was actually first used in Oxford as part of the Thames Transit fleet, but soon transferred to Torbay. Whilst there, Transit Holdings was sold, and became part of Stagecoach Devon. After service in Torbay she passed to an independent operator in Wiltshire. She was converted to a more conventional single door layout, with all forward-facing seats, increasing her seating capacity by three. | |||||
| Meanwhile Exwick (L932 CTT) entered service in the City of Exeter, where she remained until withdrawn by Stagecoach Devon. She arrived in Yatton in full Stagecoach livery as withdrawn, and is very original, being one of what was by then very few remaining, still in service as built, with two doorways. | |||||
